CCTV News: According to the National Bureau of Statistics on February 28, the results of the fifth national economic census [1] show that in 2023, my country's large-scale enterprises have been continuously increasing their digital investment, and the digital foundation has been further consolidated; the digital application of enterprises has continued to deepen, and has been integrated into all aspects of production and operation, with distinctive characteristics of digital application.

1. Focus on innovation, and enterprises' digital-related investment continues to increase

(I) Digital-related investment continues to increase

Innovation is a key factor in the high-quality development of enterprises, and digital information investment and information personnel are the basis for enterprise innovation. In 2023, my country's large-scale enterprises increased by 15.2% over the previous year in hardware equipment and software applications related to information technology. By industry, investment in digital informationization such as leasing and business services, information transmission, software and information technology services, has grown rapidly, with a growth rate of more than 20% compared with the same period last year. In 2023, there were 6.576 million information technology personnel in large-scale enterprises in my country, of which, the growth of information technology personnel in manufacturing, construction and other industries has been rapid.

(II) The digital foundation is further consolidated

Digital information technology is the cornerstone of high-quality development of enterprises, and computers and websites are important carriers of digital information technology. In 2023, my country's large-scale enterprises used 65.644 million computers, an increase of 1.9% over the previous year. The number of computers used per 100 people [3] is 39, an increase of 2 over the previous year. In 2023, the number of large-scale enterprises in my country owned 610,000 websites, an increase of 5.1% over the previous year. Each hundred companies own 41 websites, of which, each hundred companies own the largest number of websites, with 103.

2. Focus on integration, and deepen the digital application of enterprises

(I) Digital information technology is more widely used in 2023, more than 90% of enterprises above the scale of enterprises applied digital information technology such as information management systems, e-commerce, cloud computing, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, industrial Internet, etc. in production and operation activities [4] to improve production efficiency and optimize resource allocation. Among them, 97.2% of enterprises use information management systems, 37.6% of enterprises use cloud computing, 27.3% of enterprises use industrial Internet, 26.5% of enterprises use Internet of Things, 16.4% of enterprises use artificial intelligence, and 13.7% of enterprises use e-commerce to conduct transactions.

(II) Digital information technology is integrated into all aspects of production and operation

From the breadth of application of digital information technology, large-scale enterprises are more commonly used in management, procurement and sales. More than 90% of enterprises use digital information technology to conduct digital management such as financial management, human resources management, decision-making management, and security protection; more than 50% of enterprises use digital information technology to conduct purchase, sales and inventory management, logistics and distribution tracking and customer relationship maintenance. Judging from the application level of digital information technology, the application of large-scale enterprises in production and R&D is constantly deepening. More than 20% of enterprises use digital information technology to achieve intelligent manufacturing such as production process management, equipment operation and maintenance, and energy consumption management; more than 10% of enterprises use digital information technology to conduct product research and development, database development, personalized customization or platform design, etc.

(III) The application characteristics of digital information technology are distinctive

By industry, among enterprises above the scale, the application level of digital information technology in information transmission, software and information technology service industries is the highest, and the proportion of digital information technology applications such as information management systems, cloud computing, the Internet of Things, and artificial intelligence is 99.0%. 47.3% of manufacturing enterprises use the industrial Internet to produce, operate and manage production efficiency to improve production efficiency; 33.8% of transportation, warehousing and postal enterprises use the Internet of Things to track vehicle or logistics; 21.4% of wholesale, retail, accommodation and catering enterprises use e-commerce to purchase and sell.

With the in-depth development of the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, enterprises have deepened the application of digital technology in the entire production and operation process, achieved quality improvement, cost reduction and efficiency improvement, continued to enhance innovation capabilities, and continuously promoted the digital transformation of my country's industries to deepen and practical.
