The boats going out to sea returned with a full load, and the villagers were busy unloading goods at the dock. At the beginning of the New Year, our Aojiao Village was busy again.

Aojiao Village is surrounded by the sea on three sides and has a coastline of 10 kilometers. It is known as the "village walking on the sea."

In October 2024, General Secretary Xi Jinping pointed out during his inspection in Aojiao Village, Chencheng Town, Dongshan County, Zhangzhou City: "I am very pleased and moved when I see a great change in the village this time." The General Secretary's encouragement and recognition made me extremely excited and proud.

In recent years, Aojiao Village has embarked on a new path of promoting the village with sea and strengthening the village with sea. As a "locomotive", our village committee always believes that if the village wants to develop, fishing boats must drive further and fish goods must be sold further.

After our unremitting efforts, we used to drive wooden fishing boats and now we now use steel fishing boats; in the past, we could only fish offshore, but now we can engage in deep-sea fishing; our fishing port has also been upgraded from a national second-level to a first-level, and we are also preparing to build a national central fishing port this year!

I suggest that each fishing boat in the village be equipped with two large freezers to "lock" the seafood flavor; and also encourage villagers to broadcast live streaming and sell goods. Now all kinds of seafood are "traveled" to dining tables across the country through the Internet platform.

We thought that the village should continue to develop, not only fishery should be developed, but also good rural customs should keep up, so that good life can last long. Under the advocacy of the village committee, "Can fish go to the sea and write poetry when you go to the sea" has become our unique and distinctive fishing village culture. Today, the fishermen and poets in Aojiao Village have published 12 personal collections of poems, with 100 poetry enthusiasts in the village. We also promoted the establishment of the "Little Haiyan Poetry Society" by Aojiao Primary School, encouraged members of the "Fisherman Poetry Society" to serve as off-campus tutors, and cultivate a new generation of "Aojiao Poets". Now, the villagers have more confidence in doing a good job in "the sea" and are more motivated to move forward on the road of rural revitalization and common prosperity.

I really didn't expect that today's Aojiao Village has become the "poetry and distant place" for more and more people, and it is even hailed as a "Chinese Poetry Village" by some people. It has become famous and has a cultural atmosphere, and more people come to travel. In 2024, we received 200,000 tourists, and cultural tourism has become a new industry in the village, and villagers have steadily increased their income.

Now, most villagers have lived a wonderful life of "there are villas in the village, suites in the city, small cars when going out, and deposits in the bank." As the village party secretary, my efforts over the years have not been in vain!

After being elected as a member of the National People's Congress, my suggestions on "strengthening marine ecological protection" and "increasing the development of the marine photovoltaic industry" have been highly valued by relevant national ministries and commissions and have been transformed into tangible policy dividends. I have fulfilled my responsibilities for the comprehensive revitalization of the countryside.

In the future, I will keep in mind the General Secretary’s earnest instructions, continue to lead the villagers to do a good job in the “sea”, set sail on the new journey, and hand over a new answer to the fishing village that reassures the organization and satisfys the people!
