CCTV News: According to the WeChat WeChat official account of Industry and Information Technology WeChat, in order to implement the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on promoting the orderly expansion of opening up in the telecommunications field, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently issued pilot approvals for value-added telecommunications business operations to 13 foreign-funded enterprises in Beijing, Shanghai, Hainan and Shenzhen. Relevant enterprises can carry out value-added telecommunications services such as Internet access and information services according to the approval content.

As of the end of February 2025, there were more than 2,400 foreign-invested telecommunications companies in my country, an increase of 30% over the same period in 2024. The 13 foreign-invested enterprises that have received the approval of the operation pilot this time are mostly well-known multinational enterprises. After conducting related businesses, they will bring more diversified telecommunications services and products to Chinese consumers, further stimulate market vitality, improve the quality and level of telecommunications services, and better meet the people's growing digital life needs.

Since 2024, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has launched a pilot work for expanding the opening up of value-added telecommunications services in the four places, which has received widespread attention and positive evaluation from all walks of life. Foreign-invested enterprises have further stimulated their willingness to invest in my country's telecommunications business market. The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology strengthens policy publicity and guidance, optimizes service management, and guides enterprises to apply for pilot approval of value-added telecommunications services in accordance with the law. This approval is another landmark achievement in my country's information and communications industry opening up to the outside world. It is not only an important practice for my country to actively connect with international high-standard economic and trade rules, but also an important measure to comprehensively deepen reform and promote institutional opening up.
