CCTV News: Recently, in Nanjian, Yunnan, forest rangers in the nature reserve filmed an interesting scene of the western black-crowned gibbon "carrying their children" while patrolling.

This western black-crowned gibbon mother is breastfeeding with her cub. When the little monkey was sipping breastfeeding, the mother was also replenishing nutrition, and it kept picking delicious food from the trees beside it. Newborn young apes are basically hairless, and then gradually grow yellow and gradually turn black around 1 year old. The little monkey has grown short hair on its body. The forest ranger observed and judged that it was more than 3 months old.

In addition to recording the video of the Western Black-Crown Gibbon breastfeeding, the ranger also captured the scene of the little monkey learning to climb. The mother was watching, the little monkey was hanging on the tree, and his legs were alternately raising the tree, trying to climb up. From this perspective, Dad Ape also sat on the tree branch and was enjoying the sunbathing.

It is understood that the adult male of the Western Black-Crown Gibbon is black all over the body, while the whole body of the adult female is mostly yellow. It is mainly distributed in a small number of areas such as Ailao Mountain and Wuliang Mountain in Yunnan. Since the discovery of the Western Black-Crown Gibbon in the Nanjian area of Wuliangshan in May 2009, forest rangers have continued to track and record their habits. Up to now, the population of Western black-crowned gibbons observed in this area has increased to 3 groups of 16.
