(I) China-Russia relations are mature, stable and tenacious

On January 21 this year, on the eve of the Spring Festival, President Xi Jinping held a video meeting with President Putin to make plans and guide the development of China-Russia relations throughout the year. This year marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the 80th anniversary of the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War. As the main victorious countries in World War II, China and Russia plan to jointly hold a series of commemorative activities.

Through these activities, the two countries will remember the deep friendship of fighting side by side in World War II, further promote the correct historical view of World War II, and jointly safeguard global strategic stability and international fairness and justice.

After the baptism of history, the far-reaching significance of China and Russia's firm move forward together. At present, all departments of China and Russia are steadily advancing coordination and cooperation in various fields in accordance with the consensus reached by the heads of state of the two countries.

At the bilateral level, cooperation between the two countries in various fields such as trade is actively promoted, and large-scale cooperation projects are operated stably. The two sides continue to promote the in-depth docking of the joint construction of the "Belt and Road" initiative and the Eurasian Economic Union to provide impetus and support for promoting high-quality economic development of their respective economies.

On the 18th of this month, high-level representatives of Russia and the United States held talks in Riyadh on issues such as bilateral relations and the Russian-Ukraine conflict. During this call with President Xi Jinping, President Putin introduced the latest situation of Russia-US contact and Russia's principled position on the Ukrainian crisis, and expressed that Russia is committed to eliminating the root causes of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and reaching a sustainable and long-term peace plan.

Since the Ukrainian crisis escalated three years ago, China has always firmly stood on the side of peace and upholded an objective and fair position.
