Today (February 27), the 8600-vehicle dual-fuel vehicle transport ship constructed by China Shipbuilding Corporation Guangzhou Shipbuilding International was delivered in Guangzhou and a naming and loading ceremony was held. This is an "expanded and upgraded version" car transport ship, which can load 1,600 more cars while keeping the length and width of the hull unchanged.
This dual-fuel car transport ship has a total length of 200 meters and a 38-meter width. It has a 14-layer car deck and can carry at least 8600 standard cars. At the same time, in order to meet the loading needs of different cargoes such as engineering vehicles and special equipment, 5-layer liftable decks were designed. It is worth noting that this ship is the "expanded and upgraded version" of the original 7,000-vehicle dual-fuel vehicle transport ship.
It is understood that Guangzhou Ship International has received nearly 40 car transport ship orders, and 13 have been successfully built and delivered so far. Through process optimization and production equipment updates, a new record of delivery was set for more than 8 months in advance, and the construction efficiency reached the international leading level.
