The reporter saw at the scene that more than 200 circular breeding cages of various sizes were distributed in a water area of about 383 square kilometers. Since the water sources are mainly melting water from upstream glaciers and snow-capped mountains, the average water temperature throughout the year remains at around 12 degrees Celsius. These unique natural conditions provide an ideal growth environment for salmon.
On the remote automatic feeding platform, each circular breeding cage is equipped with a feed delivery pipeline in the center, and the system can realize automatic feeding of salmon.
Li Mingrui, director of the production department of Longyang Zhixian (Qinghai) Co., Ltd., said: "The equipment will automatically generate feeding volume, such as 3301 cages, which automatically generates 275 kilograms. In the past, our model was for people to drive ships to each cage to feed. Now after we get on this system, it will feed more accurately and scientifically based on the water temperature and dissolved oxygen saturation."
In addition to precise feeding, this company also relies on its independently developed underwater dirt cleaners and other advanced fishery digital and intelligent equipment to strictly control water quality monitoring, disease prevention and control. In order to help expand salmon exports, Xining Customs has collaborated with enterprises to innovate and create a "smart fishery" supervision model. By establishing 58 real-time monitoring scenarios, 24-hour blind spot monitoring of enterprise breeding, fishing, processing and other links are achieved.

According to statistics, in 2024, the export of frozen trout and frozen trout fillets in Qinghai was about 320 million yuan, an increase of 9.7 times year-on-year. Not only salmon "jumped" abroad, Qinghai's cold vegetables, Cordyceps sinensis and other agricultural and livestock products have also shown strong growth momentum in the export field. According to statistics from Xining Customs, in 2024, Qinghai Cordyceps export volume and value ranked first in the country; 19 cold vegetables such as lettuce and onions were sold to 8 countries and regions around the world. The accelerated "going overseas" of organic agricultural and livestock products has promoted Qinghai's foreign trade toward green and high-quality development.
