CCTV News: A spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce answered reporters' questions about Japan's plans to implement semiconductors and other export control measures.
A reporter asked: On January 31, the Japanese government announced that it plans to implement export controls on more than ten semiconductor-related items and include many Chinese companies in the "end user list". What is China’s comment on this?
A: China has noticed the relevant situation. For some time, some countries have generalized the concept of national security, abused export control measures, and imposed sanctions and suppressed industries such as China's semiconductors. The export control measures proposed by Japan will affect the security and stability of the industrial chain and supply chain, interfere with normal business exchanges between enterprises, and harm the interests of enterprises from both countries.
At present, relevant measures of Japan are soliciting opinions from the public. We hope that Japan will listen to the rational voice of the industry, start from maintaining international economic and trade rules and the overall situation of China-Japan economic and trade cooperation, correct relevant practices in a timely manner, avoid relevant measures to hinder the healthy development of China-Japan economic and trade relations, and jointly maintain the stability and smooth flow of the global industrial chain and supply chain. China will reserve the right to take measures and resolutely safeguard its legitimate rights and interests.
