Beijing Badachu New Year Cultural Temple Fair, full of New Year flavor, full of Beijing flavor
2025-04-28 source:CCTV.com

CCTV News: If you are in Beijing this Spring Festival, where can you feel the flavor of the New Year? The temple fair is a good choice. This year, Beijing organized a number of temple fairs, among which eight New Year Cultural Temple Fairs highlighted the prayer culture and created an old Beijing memory scene. The New Year atmosphere is sufficient and the Beijing flavor is sufficient. Changtai reporter Zhang Heyun was at the temple fair at Badachu.

Chinese Red is lit up in full, highlighting the theme of applying for the Chinese New Year's Heritage

Central Station reporter Zhang Heyun: I am now at the scene of the Badachu Cultural Temple Fair in Beijing. To celebrate the successful application for the Chinese New Year, this temple fair fully lit up "Chinese Red". It uses red lanterns, red paper-cuts, red Spring Festival couplets, red candied haws and other elements to tell the importance of applying for the Chinese New Year's Heritage, creating a strong New Year atmosphere.

The Badachu Temple Fair is a true temple and meeting, with a very profound blessing culture, including ringing auspicious bells, beating a happy drum, hanging a blessing belt and other prayer methods, allowing tourists to fully express their beautiful vision and expectations for the new year in the Badachu.

Create the Time Memory Valley and highlight the Beijing-style culture

Central Channel reporter Zhang Heyun: The area I am currently in is called the Old Beijing Time Memory Valley. It is the first time that the Badachu Temple Fair has opened to the public. With "Old Beijing Culture" as the main line, it restores the old Beijing life scene with a sense of time.

First of all, we see the restored old side food store, where you can see the honeycomb coal at the entrance of the store and the cabbage that spends the winter. There are the must-have peanuts, melon seeds and other roasted goods for the New Year, pickled pickles in a large jar, and some daily necessities, such as the historical kettle, which is the first generation of TVs and refrigerators. What’s interesting is that the cash register is still an abacus and scale, which carries the memories and feelings of Beijingers from generation to generation.

Going further in, this is the Hongshan Photo Studio. The scenes inside are also very time-honored. The old photos seem to freeze the time decades ago. This small house is called "Craftsman Under the Big Tree". You can see that it is paper cutting, seal carving, calligraphy, and quick-plated.

The small house in the innermost part is called Childhood Happy House, which contains many scenes of childhood gameplay restored. Visitors can experience childhood games in it, such as entering the video hall, relive old times, and experience the happy time of time and space.

In addition, the Badachu Temple Fair also set up a stage for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei folk art, and there are also Beijing-color parades every afternoon, including old Beijing shouts, old Beijing themed bronze men, dragon and lion dances, etc., which will meet tourists unexpectedly, and the atmosphere of the New Year is full.

Launched nearly 10,000 cultural events, and the traditional New Year atmosphere is full

In addition to the Badachu Cultural Temple Fair, during the Spring Festival, Beijing held a total of 24 temple fairs, lantern festivals, and garden parties, launching nearly 10,000 colorful cultural events. I believe that this Spring Festival can feel the rich and warm traditional New Year atmosphere in Beijing.
