Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, January 6 (Reporter Wang Libin) Four copper ore resource bases of tens of millions of tons have been formed, with the predicted copper ore resource potential of 150 million tons. my country's Qinghai-Tibet Plateau will be built into a world-class copper resource base.
The China Geological Survey released data on the 6th, saying that since the implementation of the new round of mining breakthrough strategic action, my country has continuously increased its efforts in copper mine exploration, and promoted the coordination between central, local and enterprise through public welfare leadership and scientific and technological innovation, and achieved a series of major mineral exploration results in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Heilongjiang and other regions, with the amount of new copper resources twice the amount of new resources added in the "13th Five-Year Plan".
In the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, since the 14th Five-Year Plan, the cumulative new resource volume has been added more than 20 million tons, with a predicted resource potential of 150 million tons. Four copper mine resource bases of tens of millions of tons have been formed, including Yulong, Duolong, Julong-Jiama and Xiongcun-Juno. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau will become a world-class copper resource base, effectively changing the pattern of copper ore exploration and development in my country.
At the same time, the deep mineral exploration of Duobaoshan copper mine in Heilongjiang has achieved a major breakthrough, with an additional 3.65 million tons of copper resources, consolidating the resource base of the eastern copper resource base and significantly improving my country's copper resource guarantee capabilities.
The ecological environment of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is fragile. my country will insist on developing green mining, mining activities will adhere to near-zero emissions, and ecological disturbances must be reduced to a minimum. After mining development, it must be restored or reclamated and greened in accordance with the law to achieve coordinated development of resource utilization and ecological protection.
According to reports, the China Geological Survey will continue to increase the efforts of basic mineral geological surveys, enhance the leading role of scientific and technological innovation, understand the wealth of copper mine resources, actively guide and stimulate investment in local, enterprises and social capital, vigorously promote green exploration and development, and strive to build a number of new large-scale copper mine resource bases to ensure national energy and resource security and promote high-quality development of the regional economy.
