According to statistics from Gongbei Customs, since the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge in October 2018, as of December 2024, the total import and export value of the Zhuhai Highway Port through the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has exceeded 1 trillion yuan. It is reported that the total import and export value of the bridge port exceeded 500 billion yuan for 4 years, and it took only 2 years and 2 months from 500 billion yuan to 100 billion yuan. The vitality of the foreign trade "golden channel" continues to emerge.

New categories are constantly expanding

From fresh agricultural products to daily department stores, from labor-intensive products to high-tech products, from the "old three" of foreign trade to the "new three" of goods, the categories of goods that are passing through the bridge port are becoming increasingly rich. In 2024, the cargo value of textiles and clothing, household appliances, mobile phones and electric vehicles exported through Daqiao Port increased by 51.1%, 43.3%, 34.7% and 6.6% respectively.

New business formats are bursting with vitality

At the bridge port, nearly 1 million packages are sent to all parts of the world every day, and new foreign trade formats are developing rapidly. With the continuous improvement of customs clearance efficiency, e-commerce goods exported from the bridge port can now be delivered to one-day delivery in Hong Kong and Macao and seven-day delivery worldwide.

Customs recently introduced new policies, introducing facilitation measures such as canceling the filing of cross-border e-commerce export overseas warehouse companies and simplifying the application procedures for export documents. At the same time, in view of the characteristics of the wide variety of cross-border e-commerce products and high customs clearance efficiency requirements, we explore and implement cross-border e-commerce embedded smart supervision model, upgrade supervision equipment, realize intelligent comparison and automation of inspection and sorting, and greatly improve the customs clearance efficiency of cross-border e-commerce products.

New channel radiates the world

With the accelerated construction of the new economic and trade channel of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the linkage with Hong Kong-Macao airports, surrounding ports, special supervision areas and logistics parks has become closer, and the radiation and driving role of the bridge port continues to increase. Since the opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the import and export goods transport and delivery sites through the bridge port have achieved full coverage of 31 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities) in the mainland, and the foreign trade "circle" includes more than 230 countries and regions around the world. The import and export performance of Eqiao Port to emerging markets was particularly impressive. In 2024, the import and export value of Eqiao Port to ASEAN, Latin America and Africa increased by 27.7%, 47.1% and 30.9% year-on-year, significantly higher than the overall growth rate of port foreign trade during the same period.
