CCTV News: Recently, in response to the possible safety risks caused by the short-term large-scale gathering of people during holidays and festivals in some popular tourist cities, the Office of the State Council’s Safety Committee issued a reminder letter to urge and guide various regions to further enhance the foresight and forward-looking nature of safety prevention work, and effectively strengthen safety management in places with dense crowds and key industries such as fire protection, gas, transportation, culture and tourism.

The Office of the State Council Safety Committee emphasized that it is necessary to organize inspections and sorting out scenic spots and attractions in the jurisdiction where social attention is high and tourists gather during holidays, to understand the distribution and regular characteristics of popular tourist cities, etc., to strengthen targeted prevention measures in "one city, one policy" and "one place, one policy" to not only protect the "fireworks" but also weave a tight "safety net".

The Office of the State Council’s Safety Committee requires that we should keep a close eye on popular scenic spots, Internet celebrity check-in places and other places with dense crowds and places such as New Year’s Eve activities, fireworks performances, folk and religious activities, comprehensively investigate and rectify various risks and hidden dangers such as crowded and trampled, collapse of buildings (structures), strengthen the approval management of large-scale mass activities and the maintenance of on-site safety order, and take timely drainage, flow restriction, evacuation or other reasonable risk avoidance measures. We must focus on key places such as internet celebrity business districts, food streets, scenic spots, amusement parks, cultural and museum units, and strictly investigate prominent problems such as illegal construction fire operations, illegal use of flammable and combustible materials for decoration, and occupying evacuation channels in accordance with the law, investigate and rectify the problems of "bottles, stoves, pipes, and valves" that do not meet the requirements of gas catering business premises, strengthen third-party construction safety management around urban gas pipelines, and eliminate hidden problems and hidden dangers around the people. It is necessary to strengthen traffic law enforcement and control of surrounding roads such as popular scenic spots and amusement places, carry out safety hazard inspections and treatments on key tourist routes, strengthen the inspection and treatment of hidden dangers for cableways, cable cars, large amusement facilities, glass plank roads, slides and other facilities and equipment, and strictly prevent "operation with illness". We must formulate and improve emergency plans in accordance with the safety risks of key periods, important activities, tourism peaks, and holidays, strengthen situational construction drills, and prepare emergency rescue teams, equipment and materials in advance.
