Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, January 26 (Reporter Wei Yukun) The reporter learned from the National Development and Reform Commission on the 26th that by implementing the labor-for-relief policy, a total of 3.32 million low-income people were absorbed and hired in 2024, an increase of 31% year-on-year; labor remuneration was issued 47.8 billion yuan, an increase of 32% year-on-year.

The special investment project for labor-for-relief attracts 360,000 low-income rural people to find employment nearby. The National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance issued a central special investment of 11.5 billion yuan for work-for-relief in 2024, an increase of 600 million yuan from 2023, supporting relevant provinces to implement a total of 2,726 special investment projects for work-for-relief. The total year has attracted 360,000 rural people who have been lifted out of poverty, monitored people to prevent poverty, affected people and other low-income groups to work, and 4.1 billion yuan of labor remuneration is distributed, accounting for more than 30% of the central investment. All localities also rely on project construction to carry out public welfare positions such as labor skills training, development and post-construction management and maintenance, and have trained more than 200,000 people working for work for relief throughout the year.
