CCTV News: On January 24, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the situation of ensuring market supply during the Spring Festival and promoting holiday consumption. According to the head of the Ministry of Commerce, the national daily necessities market was sufficient before the festival and the prices were generally stable.


The latest data shows that in mid-January, the inventory of grain, edible oil, pork, eggs, vegetables and other products in 200 large agricultural product wholesale markets across the country increased to varying degrees compared with the end of 2024.


On January 23, the average wholesale prices of eggs and beef decreased by 1.5% and 1.1% respectively compared with the beginning of the month; grain, edible oil, pork and mutton were basically the same as those at the beginning of the month.

Sheng Qiuping, Vice Minister of Commerce, introduced that before the festival, the inventory of daily necessities in large agricultural and sideline products wholesale markets in various places was sufficient, and the prices of grain, oil, meat, eggs, milk, fruits, vegetables, etc. were generally stable.


In order to ensure convenient services during the Spring Festival, localities will guide commercial and distribution enterprises to operate normally during the festival and encourage key supermarkets to appropriately extend their business hours. Promote the "open as much as possible" of agricultural wholesale farmers' markets, supermarkets, e-commerce companies, and takeaway express companies to ensure stable market supply.


In addition, the Ministry of Commerce and other departments have launched the "Time-made Carnival" and the "National Online New Year's Goods Festival", and implemented the national new subsidy policy for purchasing mobile phones, tablets, and smart watches (bracelets) to fully meet the consumer needs of the people to prepare New Year's goods and welcome the New Year.
