CCTV News: On January 24, the State Information Office held a press conference on ensuring market supply during the Spring Festival and promoting holiday consumption. Sheng Qiuping, Vice Minister of Commerce, introduced at the meeting that recently, the Ministry of Commerce and relevant departments have successively issued policy documents of various categories to ensure smooth transition and continuous implementation of consumer goods for old-for-new products across the year. As of 24:00 on January 23, a total of 34,000 applications for car trade-in and scrapping and renewal subsidies were received across the country in 2025, and 844,000 consumers have purchased 1.037 million units of 12 major household appliances trade-in products. New subsidies for purchasing digital products such as mobile phones have been included in the scope of central fund subsidy support for the first time. Since its implementation on January 20, 7.92 million consumers have applied for new subsidies for purchasing digital products such as mobile phones.
