CCTV News: On January 23, the Ministry of Commerce held a press conference.
At the press conference, a reporter asked: Trump said on the first day after taking office as US President, he would not increase tariffs immediately, but on the second day he said that it is possible to impose 10% tariffs on China on February 1. How does China view this matter?
Ho Yadong, spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce, responded: China's position on the issue of tariffs is consistent. Tariff measures are not conducive to both China and the United States, nor are they conducive to the entire world. China is willing to work with the United States to promote the development of China-US economic and trade relations in a stable, healthy and sustainable direction in accordance with the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence and win-win cooperation.
