In Linfen Huozhou alone, more than 20,000 people are skilled in the powerful gongs and drums. So why are so many people who like the mighty drums? In the past few days, the men, women, young and old in Huozhou, Shanxi Province, after the busy farming, could not control their love for the mighty gongs and drums. They gathered together, playing the drums and gongs, preparing for the upcoming Spring Festival performance.

Zhang Yong, who has been engaged in the performing arts and research of Weifeng Gongs and Drums for more than 30 years, is a representative inheritor of Weifeng Gongs and Drums national-level intangible cultural heritage in southern Shanxi. He told reporters that the Weifeng Gonggong was originally called "gonggonggong", commonly known as "guy", and was mainly distributed in Linfen City, Shanxi Province and counties such as Huozhou and Fushan.

It is understood that Weifeng Gong and Drum is a percussion art form played by four instruments: gong, drum, cymbal and cymbal. It has rich content and diverse forms, integrating music, dance and skills. The powerful and agile posture, rough and bold personality, and vigorous momentum of the mighty gong and drum performers reflect the generous and unrestrained character of the northern man living on the Loess Plateau.
