Patients with hemodialysis need to go to the hospital for dialysis two to three times a week, so it is required to try to obtain hemodialysis services nearby. At the press conference, a relevant person in charge of the National Health Commission said that effective measures will be taken to ensure that counties with a population of more than 100,000 can provide hemodialysis services by the end of 2025.
According to statistics from the National Health Commission, as of the end of 2024, more than 90% of county hospitals in the country have hemodialysis service capabilities, and compared in the past decade, it has increased by more than 20 percentage points. However, there are still some counties that need to further improve their hemodialysis capabilities. To this end, a relevant person in charge of the National Health Commission said that effective measures will be taken to ensure that by the end of 2025, counties with a population of more than 100,000 can provide hemodialysis services to meet the needs of hemodialysis patients.

Jiao Yahui, director of the Medical Administration Department of the National Health Commission, said: "At present, there are 72 counties with a permanent population of more than 100,000 in the country. Public comprehensive county hospitals do not yet have the ability to hemodialysis services. We will promote problem solving according to the county's medical service needs and actual conditions, especially for these newly opened hemodialysis rooms. We will increase the efforts of quality supervision, management and control."
