CCTV News: On January 20, the National Energy Administration released data on electricity consumption and other social data in 2024.
In 2024, the total electricity consumption of the whole society was 9852.1 billion kWh, an increase of 6.8% year-on-year, of which the power generation of industrial enterprises above designated size was 9418.1 billion kWh. From the perspective of electricity consumption by industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 135.7 billion kWh, an increase of 6.3% year-on-year; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 638.74 billion kWh, an increase of 5.1% year-on-year; the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 183.48 billion kWh, an increase of 9.9% year-on-year; the electricity consumption of urban and rural residents was 149.42 billion kWh, an increase of 10.6% year-on-year.
