Shenzhen Yantian Port, the world's largest super container ship is being packed and is about to head to the Port of Felisto, England. More than 24,000 containers are filled with consumer electronics, daily necessities and home furnishing products. At present, Yantian Port has more than 100 routes reaching the world every week, of which more than 60% are European and American routes. In Zhengzhou, a Mexican cargo plane has just arrived and delivered fresh food from Mexico to China.

In Yiwu, the construction of the global digital trade center is being accelerated and is expected to be put into operation in October this year. In the future, new business formats such as digital trade, service trade, and cross-border e-commerce will be gathered here to change the traditional trade model.

In 2024, China's foreign trade showed strong resilience and transformed external pressure into new growth momentum. The increase in foreign trade reached 2.1 trillion yuan throughout the year, which is equivalent to the total foreign trade volume of a medium-sized country in a year. The total import and export volume exceeds 43 trillion yuan, and the status of the largest country in goods trade is more stable, laying a solid foundation for achieving the annual economic growth target.

The results are not easy to get. Faced with the complex and severe external environment, General Secretary Xi Jinping has a deep insight into the general trend of domestic and international development and plans for the high-quality development of foreign trade. The Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China proposed that we should deepen the reform of the foreign trade system and build a system for institutional support and policy support for a strong trade country. At the Central Economic Work Conference held at the end of last year, the General Secretary proposed to actively develop service trade, green trade and digital trade. During the inspections in various places, he made important arrangements for accelerating the construction of a strong trade country, emphasizing the solid promotion of domestic and foreign trade integration reform and the acceleration of cultivating new momentum for foreign trade.

Earing the new year, the "combination punch" of stabilizing foreign trade is accelerating its implementation. Increase financing support for foreign trade enterprises, promote the construction of overseas smart logistics platforms, improve the guarantee capacity of foreign trade and maritime transportation, and take a number of measures to promote stable growth of foreign trade.

Policies are strengthened, and China's foreign trade has become more "new" in the opening year. In Yangzhou, Jiangsu, new energy container ships fueled by methanol will be delivered to overseas customers soon, and the production plans of ship companies have been scheduled until 2028. In Qitaihe, Heilongjiang, workers from a sports equipment company are working overtime to rush to make high-end customized ice skates exported to the Netherlands. The use of new materials and new technologies has allowed the company to enter the market for speed skates for international professional competitions.

Today, high-value-added "Made in China" is becoming a best-selling overseas "new domestic products", and China's foreign trade companies are also actively expanding the market and increasing orders with a constantly changing and fighting attitude. In Shaoxing, Zhejiang, the person in charge of a clothing company is remotely communicating with foreign customers about the production details of a batch of new orders. In the past, companies mainly rely on volume for exporting suits; now, companies independently design and develop a big data platform, and customers only need to take three photos with their mobile phones to achieve personalized customization of suits.

New products, new technologies and new services are accelerating their overseas trips, and the trade structure continues to be optimized. This is the confidence for China's foreign trade to continue to maintain resilience and vitality under the complex situation.

Ear 2025, another batch of free trade agreements will come into effect. In Xiamen, Fujian, the first preferential certificate of origin after the China-Maldives Free Trade Agreement came into effect has just been issued. The companies that obtained the certificate have enjoyed the "zero tariff" treatment for exporting Maldives products. At present, my country has signed 23 free trade agreements with 30 countries and regions, and the global high-standard free trade zone network has been expanding, which has also made trade flows smoother.

As the Spring Festival approaches, New Zealand's tripe, Vietnamese steamed fish, etc. are transported through the cold chain of the Western Land-Sea New Corridor, and are on the Chinese hot pot menu. Durian from Thailand and banana from Laos enter the country through the China-Laos Railway, enriching people's "fruit basket".

Today, China is already the main trading partner of more than 150 countries and regions, and is a solid and reliable component of the global division of labor system. The ever-elevated China-made and the super-large-scale Chinese market are becoming the source of the high-quality development of China's foreign trade, and will also bring more new opportunities for world development.
