Wang Hesheng, vice chairman and secretary-general of the Asian Winter Games Organizing Committee and mayor of Harbin Municipal People's Government, introduced that the ice project of the 9th Asian Winter Games uses the original venues and facilities to improve and transform in terms of refrigeration, dehumidification, lighting, heating, network and other functions. After the game, the venues will be open to the public with higher standards, better environment and more complete functions.

At the Heilongjiang Provincial Ice Training Center, athletes are still conducting daily training. In the near future, the Asian Winter Games will be held here for speed skating, short track speed skating, and figure skating competitions. Wu Xian, chief engineer of the maintenance and renovation project of Heilongjiang Provincial Ice Training Center, introduced that the construction of the venues in the center was relatively old. The speed skating hall was an indoor speed skating hall built on the basis of an open-air venue in 1995. The speed skating competition of the third Asian Winter Games was held there at that time; the comprehensive hall next to the speed skating hall was built in 1983.

For the 9th Asian Winter Games, these venues have "changed their old looks".

"We have renovated the roof and exterior walls of the speed skating hall, increased insulation and waterproofing performance, and upgraded the venue's lighting. In addition, we have also increased the refrigeration capacity of the refrigeration system and increased the heat energy recovery device, and the energy saving level of the venue has been greatly improved." Wu Xian said that they also used electric ice stool trucks to replace fuel ice stool trucks, further improving the green and environmental protection level of the venue.

In addition, this Asian Winter Conference will achieve the first time in history to transform and build the venues and supporting facilities, test competitions and 100% green electricity supply during the competition. Liu Qinghui, head of the environmental protection team of the Athlete Service Department of the Asian Winter Conference Executive Committee, introduced that green energy such as wind energy and solar energy will be continuously supplied to various venues during the competition to ensure the electricity demand of the venues.

"In terms of venue renovation, we also strictly screen high-quality material suppliers and brands, and established a white list of environmentally friendly materials that have been tested to ensure that all the materials used during the renovation are environmentally friendly building materials. At the same time, use rivet structures or splicing structures as much as possible, and do not use adhesives as much as possible." Liu Qinghui introduced that the Executive Committee has also introduced new energy vehicles to ensure the car use needs during the event.
