The reporter learned from the China Geological Survey Bureau of the Ministry of Natural Resources that my country has made a major breakthrough in mineral exploration in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and the newly discovered copper ore resources amounted to more than 20 million tons.
According to reports, four copper mine resource bases of tens of millions of tons have been formed in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, namely Jade Dragon, Duolong, Giant Dragon-Jiama and Xiongcun-Juno, with a predicted resource potential of 150 million tons. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is expected to become a world-class copper resource base.

Our solar energy, onshore wind energy, offshore wind energy, and our new energy vehicles require a large amount of copper. The exploration and storage increase of these copper ores plays a very important role in the construction of important resource bases in our country and can ensure the security of our country's copper industry chain and supply chain.
In addition, the deep copper mine in Duobaoshan, Heilongjiang also added 3.65 million tons of copper resources. This round of copper mine exploration results will significantly improve my country's copper resource guarantee capabilities. In the next step, the China Geological Survey of the Ministry of Natural Resources will continue to increase efforts in basic mineral geological surveys, enhance the leading role of scientific and technological innovation, understand the wealth of copper ore resources, and strive to build a number of new large copper ore resource bases to form a modern copper ore resource industry economic demonstration zone.
