The reporter learned from China Petroleum today (19th) that the oil and gas production equivalent of my country's largest ultra-deep oil and gas production base, Tarim Oilfield, produced below 6,000 meters in 2024, exceeding 20 million tons, reaching 20.47 million tons, a new high.
The Tarim Basin is the largest oil-containing and gas basin in my country, with rich ultra-deep oil and gas resource reserves. As the newly opened deep-ground natural gas area in Tarim Oilfield, the Bozi Dabei Gas Zone of Tarim Oilfield has grown strongly for five consecutive years.

We have opened 123 wells and nearly 30 million cubic meters of natural gas are produced from the depths of the formation every day.
At present, the Tarim Oilfield has built five deep and ultra-deep natural gas production areas in the southern foot of the Tianshan Mountains and the hinterland of the Taklamakan Desert, with a daily production of more than 90 million cubic meters of natural gas. Most of this natural gas is collected from deep strata seven or eight thousand meters underground.

Through drilling technology research and development, the 9,000-meter-level drilling technology is becoming increasingly mature, which has also reserved a batch of key process technologies and tools for us to build a 10,000-meter-deep well.
In 2024, Tarim Oilfield drilled more than 50 deep wells with 8,000 meters. The first 10,000-meter exploration well in my country, the Tarim Oilfield, organized and implemented, successfully broke through the 10,000-meter mark, becoming the second onshore world and the first vertical and deep well in Asia, marking a major breakthrough in my country's deep-field field. It not only drove the iterative upgrade of 10,000-meter drilling technology and equipment, but also promoted the exploration and development process of my country's deep-field oil and gas.
