CCTV News: As of December 2024, all provinces have expanded the scope of employee medical insurance to close relatives. The number and amount of employees' medical insurance personal accounts in the province has steadily increased, and cross-provincial mutual aid has been officially piloted in 41 coordinated areas in 11 provinces including Hebei, Anhui, Tibet through the medical insurance wallet transfer function.

From January to December 2024, there were 371 million employees in the province, an increase of 46 million people over January to November; the total amount was 51.154 billion yuan, an increase of 6.701 billion yuan over January to November.

From the perspective of mutual aid, there were 341 million people in the same unified area (usually the same city) with a total of 45.102 billion yuan; there were 30.0062 million people in the province with a total of 6.052 billion yuan.

From the perspective of amalgamation, it is used to pay 38.14 billion yuan of medical expenses for individuals incurred in medical treatment in designated medical institutions, 1.922 billion yuan of personal expenses for individuals incurred in designated retail pharmacies, and 10.116 billion yuan of personal expenses for participating in residents' basic medical insurance.

The cumulative amount of personal payments for employee medical insurance personal accounts used to participate in residents' basic medical insurance, etc., is in the top five in the country, namely Hebei Province, 966 million yuan, Henan Province, 942 million yuan, Guizhou Province, 749 million yuan, Zhejiang Province, 666 million yuan, and Hunan Province, 596 million yuan.

The total amount of medical insurance wallets in 41 coordinated areas in 11 provinces and 115,600 people have used medical insurance wallets, and the total amount of medical insurance personal accounts of employees is 3.6744 million yuan.

In November 2024, the National Medical Insurance Service Platform APP launched the medical insurance wallet. Through the medical insurance wallet transfer function, it can not only achieve provincial mutual assistance for employees' medical insurance personal accounts, but also cross-provincial mutual assistance. The funds in the medical insurance wallet can be used to settle medical and drug purchase expenses and pay personal fees for residents' medical insurance.

As of the end of December 2024, 41 coordinated areas in 11 provinces including Hebei, Anhui, Tibet have been officially piloted, with a total of 115,600 people using medical insurance wallets, 7,695 transfers, with a total amount of 3.6744 million yuan. From the perspective of Tongji area, there were 6,592 transfers within the province, with a transfer amount of 3.2241 million yuan; 1,103 transfers across provinces, with a transfer amount of 450,300 yuan. From the perspective of mutualism, the total amount of 1,015 medical insurance wallets is used to pay medical treatment and drug purchases is 139,500 yuan; the total amount of 141 resident medical insurance costs is paid using the wallets is 57,000 yuan.
