Last year, the scale of new energy installed capacity in the five southern provinces and regions hit a record high, reaching 59.32 million kilowatts. In addition, last year, the power generation of various new energy sources in the five southern provinces and regions increased by 36% year-on-year.

The green certificate is a green power certificate, an electronic "id card" for renewable energy green power. The latest data released by the National Energy Administration shows that as of the end of December 2024, the cumulative transaction volume of my country's renewable energy green power certificates has exceeded 553 million since 2017.
As of the end of 2024, China Green Certificates issued a total of 4.955 billion, an increase of 21.42 times year-on-year; a total of 553 million transactions, an increase of 4.19 times year-on-year, equivalent to 553 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity, of which the purchase volume of corporate green certificates exceeded 99%.
Yi Yuechun, executive vice president of the General Institute of Hydropower and Water Conservancy Planning and Design, said that the manufacturing industry is currently more active in purchasing green electricity, and manufacturing industries such as the communications industry and the automobile industry account for 70% of the purchase of green electricity.
The China Green Certificate is the only proof of the environmental attributes of renewable energy electricity, and is the only proof for determining the production and consumption of renewable energy electricity. One green certificate unit is equal to 1,000 kilowatt-hour renewable energy electricity.
Pan Huimin, deputy director of the New Energy Department of the National Energy Administration, said: "A closed-loop system has been established that includes five major links: project filing and card establishment, issuance, green certificate trading, application, and verification, and promote the formation of a unified green certificate market in the country."
