CCTV News: The wind blows the wheat waves, and it is the summer harvest season again, and the roar of the harvester plays the prelude to the harvest. Summer grain is the first quarter of grain production throughout the year, and the output accounts for more than 20% of the total grain production throughout the year. Among them, more than 90% are winter wheat. Where is the main winter wheat produced in our country and when will it be harvested with sickles? Let’s open the harvest map together.
There are four main wheat-producing areas in my country

There are four main wheat-producing areas in my country, namely: Southwest wheat-producing areas, the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the North China and Huanghuaihai wheat-producing areas, and the Northwest wheat-producing areas.
The winter wheat in the southwest wheat area was the first to harvest sickle

At present, in the four provinces and cities of Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan and Chongqing, winter wheat area has been the first to harvest sickle. The planting area of this wheat area is about 15 million mu, accounting for 4.5% of the country.

In late May, winter wheat in the wheat areas in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River will gradually bloom, mainly including Hubei, Hunan, Jiangxi, Zhejiang, and Shanghai, with a planting area of about 18.17 million mu, accounting for 5.4%. This production area contributes the best quality weak-gluten wheat in the country and is an important raw material for pasta snacks such as cakes, biscuits, ginger, egg tarts, pastries, etc.

Earing the end of May and early June, large-scale winter wheat harvest will begin in the wheat areas of North China and Huanghuaihai, and the harvest season will last until mid-to-late June. The flat and vast Huanghuai Plain is the largest and most produced wheat area in China. The total area of winter wheat grown in five main wheat-producing provinces exceeds 70% of the country's national output, and the output is nearly 80%. It is located in a warm temperate zone, with a long light time and a suitable climate for wheat growth; the flat terrain is conducive to large-scale mechanical operations.
In Shaanxi, Gansu, Ningxia and Xinjiang in the northwest wheat area, winter wheat is usually harvested at the end of June.
Winter wheat is harvested from south to north from mid-May to early July

From south to north, the harvesting period of winter wheat in my country will continue from mid-May to early July, ensuring that the 340 million mu of winter wheat pellets this year are returned to the warehouse.
The harvest line supports China's confidence in food security

In July and August, spring wheat north of the Great Wall will also begin to mature and harvest successively. Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning are the main spring wheat producing areas. The golden wheat fields outline the harvest and support the most confidence in China's food security.
