Faced with the current complex and severe international situation, the Free Trade Pilot Zone has shown strong development resilience. From January to March 2025, the total import and export volume of the free trade pilot zone reached 2 trillion yuan, an increase of 2.2% year-on-year, higher than the national growth rate. In the next step, the Ministry of Commerce will implement the strategy of improving the free trade pilot zone in depth and further improve the quality of the construction of the free trade pilot zone.
He Yongqian, spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce of China, introduced that in line with high-standard rules such as CPTPP (Comprehensive and Progressive Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement) and DEPA (Digital Economic Partnership Agreement), we will carry out institutional open experiments in a wider field, deeper and greater efforts in developing service trade and facilitating cross-border data flow. Support the free trade pilot zone to carry out integrated innovation in the entire industrial chain around key industries such as biomedicine, equipment manufacturing, marine economy, shipping and logistics, and create more world-leading advanced industrial clusters.
