CCTV News: According to the National Railway Administration, in April 2025, the national railway passenger and freight volume increased steadily, and transportation was safe, stable and orderly, effectively serving the country's major strategies and economic and social development.
Since this year, passenger travel demand has continued to be strong, and railway passenger flow has remained at a high level. In April, the national railway sent 382 million passengers, an increase of 6.0% year-on-year. In the first four months of this year, the national railways sent a total of 1.456 billion passengers, a year-on-year increase of 5.9%; the passenger turnover reached 532.561 billion passenger kilometers, a year-on-year increase of 1.7%.

In April, the national railway freight transmission volume was 428 million tons, an increase of 4.9% year-on-year. In the first four months of this year, the national railway freight volume was 1.681 billion tons, a year-on-year increase of 2.0%; the freight turnover volume was 1165.121 billion tons-kilometers, a year-on-year increase of 1.2%, driving the economy to continue to recover and improve.
In the first four months of this year, the national railway fixed asset investment reached 194.7 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.3%, and railway construction was promoted with high-quality and efficient.
