The first to harvest sickle is the southwest wheat area (Sichuan, Chongqing, Guizhou, Yunnan). The winter wheat area in the southwest wheat area is about 15 million mu, accounting for 4.5% of the national winter wheat area; next is the wheat area in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the wheat area in the Huanghuaihai, and the wheat area in the northwest.
The flat and vast Huanghuai Plain is the largest and most produced wheat area in China. The total area of winter wheat grown in the five main wheat-producing provinces here exceeds 70% of the country's wheat, and the output is nearly 80%. The flat terrain is conducive to large-scale mechanical operations, and the wheat harvest here will be launched on a large scale by the end of May.
