CCTV News: A reporter learned from the China Railway Corporation on May 15 that from January to April this year, the number of passengers sent by railways nationwide was 1.46 billion, an increase of 5.9% year-on-year, setting a record high in the same period.

In response to passenger flow growth, transportation capacity has increased significantly. From January to April this year, a new batch of new Fuxing EMU trains with a speed of 350 kilometers per hour were put into use by the national railway, timely increasing capacity supply in popular directions and ranges, and adding night high-speed rails to major channels during peak hours. The national railways operated an average of 11,224 passenger trains per day, an increase of 7.1% year-on-year.

The train heads towards the scenic spot. Closely connect with the market demands of tourism, ecological health care, and red study and study, China Railway Corporation has developed and invested in aging-friendly tourism trains, and has coordinated with hotels and scenic spots along the route to expand new consumption scenarios. From January to April, a total of 367 tourist trains were launched nationwide, an increase of 23% year-on-year, helping the development of the tourism economy and the silver economy.

Carefully organize cross-border passenger transportation. From January to April, the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong High-speed Railway sent 10.172 million cross-border passengers, an increase of 14.7% year-on-year; the China-Laos Railway sent 105,000 cross-border passengers, an increase of 32.5% year-on-year; the China-Mongolia and China-Russia international passenger trains were successfully launched, promoting cross-border personnel exchanges and economic and trade exchanges. From January to April, the national railway sent 5.687 million foreign passengers, an increase of 32.1% year-on-year.
