CCTV News: According to the official account of "City Saying New Language", recently, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) officially released the "General Requirements and Guidelines for Inclusive Digital Economy in Aging Society" (ISO 25556:2025). This standard was led by my country and is the first digital economy standard from the perspective of population aging.
This standard stipulates the basic principles and core elements of the aging-friendly digital economy, and puts forward specific suggestions and application cases for high-frequency scenarios of elderly people participating in the digital economy such as online shopping, digital banking, digital hospitals, online entertainment, social media, smart travel, smart communities, smart homes, etc., condensing scientific solutions for establishing an inclusive digital economy for aging and eliminating the global digital divide for the elderly, and contributing Chinese wisdom.
According to the United Nations Population Division, by the end of this year, the global population aged 60 and above will reach 1.42 billion. During the formulation process, the standard has received widespread attention and active participation from global stakeholders. Interdisciplinary experts from more than 20 countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Denmark, Australia, Japan, South Korea, India, Singapore and other countries have collaborated to participate in the standard development work.
