CCTV News: The country's largest photovoltaic energy + LNG dual-fuel vehicle transport ship, invested by COSCO Shipping Special Transportation and built by China Shipping Group Guangzhou Shipping International, was officially named "Yuanhaikou" ship in Guangzhou, and its maiden voyage will be held on May 15. It will carry Chinese branded vehicles to export to Mediterranean countries.

The stern springboard of this "big Mac" with a total length of 199.9 meters is opened. This type of ship is continuously driven by the dock staff on board the ship. After the cabin is parked, it will disembark and cycle continuously until all the cars are loaded - this is called the car's "roll-on-roll" transport ship. It has higher loading efficiency and has a larger space to load.

"Yuanhaikou" uses a hybrid power of "liquefied natural gas + traditional fuel oil". Compared with traditional single fuel vehicle ships, it can save about 20% of energy consumption each year, which is more green. The deck is densely covered with photovoltaic power plates - "Yuanhaikou" is currently the largest photovoltaic energy + LNG dual-fuel vehicle transport ship in the country.

The first flight on May 15 was carried out. It carried out the "China-Mediterranean" liner route, heading to countries such as Greece, Turkey, Italy, and Tunisia. The one-way flight is about 30 days, which can save nearly one-third of the time compared to the past.

The cabin can carry all types of vehicles such as cars, engineering cars, buses, etc., just like a "three-dimensional parking lot" on the sea. Each car can find its own "exclusive parking space" through multiple modular, liftable and adjustable decks. At the same time, each car uses specially developed tying ties to be fixed to a dedicated tying hole on the deck, just like tying a "seat belt" on the car.

On May 15, with the delivery of the "Far Sea Port", COSCO Shipping Automobile fleet expanded to 20 ships, with routes spread across China to the Persian Gulf, Europe, East Africa, South Africa, western South America, Mediterranean and other regions, injecting strong momentum into my country's automobile sailing to sea. "Yuanhaikou" ship: a microcosm of green, low-carbon and intelligent ship transformation
The "Yuanhaikou" ship is also the first ship that fully meets the "Technical Guidelines for Ro-Ro-Ro-Traffic Transportation of New Energy Vehicles" by China. This guide is independently formulated by my country to lead the healthy development of the industry with higher standards. The "Yuanhaikou" ship has many performance characteristics such as green, low-carbon, and intelligent, becoming a microcosm of my country's shipping ship technological innovation and green transformation.

In the upper deck layer of the "Yuanhaikou" wheel, a photovoltaic power generation system consisting of 512 monocrystalline silicon solar panels has a total area of more than 1,300 square meters, which can provide ships with electricity supplement other than fuel.

The entire ship is equipped with a distributed solar photovoltaic grid-connected system with a peak power of 302.8 kilowatts, which is also the largest photovoltaic system loaded by similar ships. The annual power generation can reach 410,000 kWh, the fuel saving is about 111 tons, and the carbon emissions are reduced by about 345.9 tons.

The LNG dual-fuel power used by the ship can save about 20% of energy consumption compared to traditional fuel tankers. At the same time, it is also equipped with a medium-voltage shore power reception system, which can use 100% of the shore power during the port arrival period. The low-carbon solution of "LNG+photovoltaic+shore power" makes the ship's greener characteristics more significant.

In the cockpit, relying on the independently developed "auto and ship intelligent monitoring system" can realize dynamic monitoring of ships and vehicles. It’s like hiring a “smart butler” for the ship. Not only can the crew see that even the cargo owners on the shore who are thousands of miles away can remotely monitor the various status of the cargo.

Yang Guangkai, the captain of the "Yuanhaikou" ship, introduced that it is equipped with more than 200 cameras on the ship, and integrates infrared temperature imaging, digital twin and other technologies to realize the two main functions of the whole process of automobile transportation and preventing and resolving major risks, so as to achieve one screen to observe all the entire ship and one network to manage the whole ship.

In the past, it was difficult for crew members to eat fresh vegetables while sailing. In this container, there is also an automated vegetable planting cabinet, which is very rare on ocean-going ships. By intelligently controlling temperature and humidity, light and hydroponic nutrients, we will build a "vegetable basket" at sea.
