On the same day, the China Earthquake Administration held the second national earthquake prevention and disaster reduction home event in Shaoshan, Hunan, and officially released the "Outline of Basic Knowledge and Skills for Anti-Shock Reduction". This is the first national level to compile basic knowledge and behavioral skills norms for earthquake prevention and disaster reduction, aiming to systematically improve the public's disaster prevention awareness and emergency response capabilities and build a solid social security line of defense.

This event is themed "Shock Prevention and Disaster Reduction, Build Safety Together". It adopts online and offline linkage form. Through holding popular science exhibitions, emergency drills, book donations, expert lectures and other activities, it popularizes scientific risk aversion knowledge and self-rescue mutual rescue skills to the public.

The "Basic Knowledge and Skills Outline of Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Reduction" released on site includes 18 contents and their interpretations, which are divided into two parts: "basic knowledge and concepts" and "basic behaviors and skills", covering the spatial distribution laws of earthquakes, earthquake early warning, emergency risk aversion skills during earthquakes, and post-earth life skills.

During the event, the China Earthquake Administration released typical cases of emergency risk evacuation in schools through the Internet and new media, introducing the "textbook"-style risk evacuation experience of five middle schools in Sichuan, Qinghai, Fujian, Yunnan, Hebei and other places.

Zhang Qin, deputy director of the China Earthquake Administration, said that strengthening popular science on earthquake prevention and disaster reduction is an important measure to implement the concept of "people first, life first". This activity will help further arouse the whole society's attention to earthquake prevention and disaster reduction work, promote the formation of a good atmosphere of "everyone participates and everyone fulfills their responsibilities", and build a solid social foundation for reducing earthquake disaster risks.

In recent years, the China Earthquake Administration, together with relevant industry departments, local governments and social organizations, has continuously promoted the popularization of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction science to the grassroots level. In particular, the theme activity of "Earthquake Science Popularity and Walk Hands in Hand" jointly carried out by the Ministry of Education, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission, and the China Association for Science and Technology has benefited 28,000 schools across the country.
