CCTV News: According to the WeChat official account of "Internet Information China", recently, some online accounts have fabricated emergencies, fabricated public policies, and fabricated rumors in the field of social and people's livelihood by abusing AI technology, grafting and patching, which has misled netizens' awareness, caused public panic, and disrupted social order. The Internet Information Department guides the website platform to continue to increase the intensity of monitoring and disposal exposure, promptly trace the source and close the first-posted account of rumors, and deal with a total of 2,210 related illegal and irregular accounts. Some typical cases are reported as follows.

1. Rumor of "AI predicts lottery numbers 100% winning" A news that "AI predicts lottery numbers, wins 100%" is circulating on the Internet. China Welfare Lottery issued a document to remind that the so-called AI prediction of lottery numbers is a scam, so please be careful. Accounts such as "Lonely Life" on Kuaishou Platform and "Come and Take Me to Dinner" on Xiaohongshu Platform have been closed according to law.

2. Rumors such as "Guangdong hail is bigger than eggs". Recently, some netizens took advantage of the hail weather in Guangdong and posted pictures such as "hail is bigger than eggs" and "hail smashes cars". After verification by the Guangdong Internet Reporting Center, the relevant pictures are all false pictures generated through AI production, and the pictures obviously exaggerate the disaster. Accounts such as Baidu platform "Tongsheng Here", Xiaohongshu platform "Yaoyao Xuezhongke", and Toutiao platform "Xiaotang Hot Search" have been closed in accordance with the law.

3. Rumor of "a vicious criminal case occurred in Binjiang, Hangzhou". There is news online that "a vicious criminal case occurred in Binjiang District and the suspect has been detained", which has attracted attention. After verification by local public security organs, the information was purely fictional. In order to gain traffic, the rumor-maker used AI generation tools to fabricate false cases. After in-depth editing, it was published on social platforms. The rumor-maker has been imposed administrative penalties in accordance with the law. Accounts such as Baidu platform "Xiaoyuyouyou" and WeChat platform "Sanhan Xiao Demon King" have been closed according to law.

4. "Scan the QR code to receive the 'five insurance and one fund subsidy'" rumor. Recently, some netizens reported that they had received a notice of "scan the QR code to receive the 'five insurance and one fund subsidy'". The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security said that the notification information was false and suspected of fraud, and has never issued the so-called "five insurances and one fund subsidy" to ordinary people. Accounts such as "Nijit" on WeChat platform have been closed in accordance with the law.

5. "Deliberately fabricate and spread false 'mortality rate'" series of rumors. Recently, information such as "as of the end of 2024, the mortality rate of post-80s exceeded 5.2%" and "the mortality rate of post-70s is lower than that of post-80s" has been circulating online. After verification by the public security organs, the above information is a rumor fabricated by some netizens in order to sow emotions and sell health products. The rumor-mongers have been imposed administrative penalties in accordance with the law. Accounts such as Zhihu platform "Jiangnan" and Bilibili platform "Jingjing Said-" have been closed in accordance with the law.

6. Rumor "10 people were killed and hundreds of people lost contact on a fire in an industrial park in Chongqing." Recently, some netizens spread the information that "10 people were killed, 16 people were injured, hundreds of people were lost, and a fire in an industrial park in Chongqing" attracted attention. After verification by the Chongqing Internet Illegal and Bad Information Reporting Center with the Chongqing Emergency Management Bureau and the Chongqing Fire Rescue Corps, there has been no such accident in Chongqing recently, and the information circulated online is a rumor. Accounts such as "Xia Jie" on the Douyin platform and "Jun Crazy Yu" on the Weibo platform have been closed in accordance with the law.

7. Rumor of "A 5.8-magnitude earthquake occurred in Mangshi, Dehong, Yunnan." Recently, some netizens posted a video saying that "a 5.8-magnitude earthquake occurred in Mangshi, Yunnan." After verification by the Mangshi Municipal Party Committee Internet Information Office, the relevant videos were false information that the rumor-mongers marked Myanmar earthquake videos as "Mangshi earthquake ruins in Yunnan" in order to get traffic. Accounts such as "Love someone and treat her well" on the Douyin platform and "Acquaintance is fate 033" on the Kuaishou platform have been closed according to law.

8. Rumor of "The Propaganda and Culture Ministry of the China Federation of Disabled Persons" There are rumors on the Internet that "the Ministry of Propaganda and Culture of the China Disabled Persons' Federation has carried out online pilot of APPs", and the China Disabled Persons' Federation Propaganda and Cultural Department has solemnly declared that it has never authorized any organization or individual to establish the so-called "China Disabled Persons' Federation online pilot offline studio", and has never organized activities such as "APP online pilot targeted poverty alleviation and assistance to the disabled". Accounts such as "Ranran" on WeChat platform have been closed in accordance with the law.

The head of relevant departments of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Office said that it will continue to increase the intensity of monitoring and crackdown on online rumors, strictly investigate and punish accounts that publish rumors, and promptly expose typical cases of violations and regulations, and form a strong warning and deterrent effect. At the same time, netizens are welcome to actively participate in supervision and reporting, widely gather forces from all parties, work together to eradicate the survival soil of online rumors, and jointly create a clear cyberspace.
