CCTV News: Now many cities have launched customized bus services. "One Things to Livelihood" will take a look at Shanghai's exploration in this regard on May 10. Last year, Shanghai began to pilot customized buses in various districts across the city, but passengers need to operate through different channels when checking routes and making appointments to purchase tickets. On May 8, Shanghai launched a customized bus operation service platform, opening up the entire process of customization, inquiry and ticket purchase.

Shanghai’s customized bus services focus on citizens’ needs for commuting, studying, medical treatment, etc., and include those routes with high voices in the plan. After more than a year of preparation, more than 220 customized bus routes have been opened in the city. These routes start with the first letter of "customized" pinyin and cover 16 districts in the city. There are commuting lines that facilitate office workers to directly reach the subway station, as well as school lines that escort students to and from school, and special lines that pick up and drop off citizens for medical treatment.

The Shanghai Customized Bus Operation Service Platform integrates all route information of customized buses in the city, and citizens can query with one click.

What is more thoughtful is that the platform can also be "privately customized". Citizens can submit their travel needs and initiate custom routes, or register for routes initiated by others, or participate in the customized routes that have been announced. Bus companies capture hot spots in real time and quickly integrate their scattered travel intentions.

Wang Yixiang, deputy director of the Passenger Transport Department of Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, said: "Citizens can propose some custom needs for themselves. We are now based on different models, such as 15 people in small models and 20 people in large cars. Of course, in the actual process, we have to look at the actual situation. In fact, it is to better match the travel needs of citizens and the supply and demand relationship between enterprise operations."

Customized bus service upgrades to better meet the needs of citizens

From "direct access to the subway station at your doorstep" to "point-to-point delivery of school and medical treatment", Shanghai's customized buses are quietly changing citizens' travel models, allowing bus services to move from "mass universal access" to "precise access".

Wang Yixiang, deputy director of the Passenger Transport Department of the Shanghai Municipal Transportation Commission, said: "Our idea of developing customized buses is to maximize it by using existing bus resources. One of its biggest features is flexibility. If the people have needs, it may flexibly respond and activate it. It can be regarded as an upgrade of services."

In order to enable citizens' customization needs to be implemented more efficiently, the platform has created a full-process digital service system. It provides functions such as demand collection, information release, appointment payment, customer service operation and maintenance. After users submit custom requirements online, they can view the customization progress, and the platform will regularly push the customization status, from the demand proposal to the line opening, every step is clearly visible.

Sun Hu, head of the data business department of Shanghai Suishenxing Smart Transportation Technology Co., Ltd., said: "The core of service is selectable, comparable, responsive, and cancelled. In fact, the core of a customized bus platform is how the government can truly turn a bus into a service rather than a function at the level of the transformation of the entire bus service. This is actually the most core problem that customized bus platforms need to solve."

In order to bring passengers a high-quality travel experience, the platform has built a service evaluation and feedback system. After taking the bus, citizens can give ride evaluations and make suggestions at the evaluation entrance. Customized bus route opening and function iteration will continue to be optimized and improved based on citizens' evaluation and feedback.

Shanghai People's Congress Representative said: "The development and design of our line has also been introduced to the public. We need citizens to fully participate in this matter. This platform not only supplies passengers, but also supplies enterprises, so that we can know the needs of passengers."
