CCTV News: The latest data released by the National Health Insurance Administration on the 17th showed that my country's medical insurance fund revenue and expenditure balanced and had a slight surplus in 2024, and the trend of excessively rapid expenditure growth has been curbed.
Data shows that the total revenue of the national basic medical insurance fund in 2024 was 3.48 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%. Among them, the employee medical insurance fund income was 2.37 trillion yuan, and the residents' medical insurance fund income was 1.11 trillion yuan. The total expenditure of national medical insurance funds was 2.97 trillion yuan, an increase of 5.5% year-on-year, and the trend of excessively rapid growth in expenditures has been curbed. The current balance of the national medical insurance coordination fund is 0.47 trillion yuan, with a cumulative balance of 3.87 trillion yuan, of which 3.05 trillion yuan of employees' medical insurance and 0.82 trillion yuan of residents' medical insurance.
Director of the Department of Regulation, Finance and Regulations of the National Medical Insurance Administration said: "Among all fund expenditures, the proportion of unified fund expenditures increased by 2 percentage points compared with 2023, reaching 80.3%, indicating that the fund's mutual aid efficiency has been further enhanced. Outpatient protection continues to make new progress, with the number of basic medical insurance outpatient settlements nationwide reaching 6.7 billion people, a year-on-year increase of 19%. Among them, maternity insurance fund benefits expenditures were 143.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 33.9%. "
