CCTV News: The 137th Canton Fair closed on May 5, with intention-to-export transactions on site of US$25.44 billion, an increase of 3% over the same period in 2024. Among them, the transaction proportion of countries jointly built the "Belt and Road" accounted for more than 60%, which is an important engine to drive transaction growth.
The total exhibition area of this year's Canton Fair is 1.55 million square meters, the total number of booths is about 74,000, and about 31,000 exhibitors are included.
It is understood that due to the abuse of tariffs in the United States, the number of merchants from this Canton Fair has changed, but the number of merchants from the General Staff has increased significantly. As of May 4, more than 280,000 overseas buyers from 219 countries and regions attended the meeting, an increase of 17.3% over the same period in 2024.
The merchants are actively negotiating transactions, with on-site intention export transactions of US$25.44 billion, an increase of 3% over the same period in 2024. According to data from the China Foreign Trade Center, the organizer of the Canton Fair, emerging markets are still the largest source of customers in the Canton Fair, with 187,500 buyers from countries jointly building the "Belt and Road" Belt and Road, an increase of 17.4% year-on-year, accounting for 64.9%. There were 72,400 buyers in BRICS countries, an increase of 24.1% year-on-year; there were 64,800 buyers in RCEP member countries, an increase of 6.9% year-on-year, demonstrating China's strong vitality in foreign trade.
