CCTV News: The State Administration of Taxation uses value-added tax invoice data to analyze the sales situation of consumption-related industries during this year's May Day holiday. The latest VAT invoice data shows that during the May Day holiday, the sales revenue of national consumption-related industries increased by 15.2% year-on-year. Among them, the "old-for-new" policy for consumer goods has driven the strong demand for consumption of home appliances and communication equipment, and the consumption of household goods and jewelry has increased significantly, and personalized tourism service consumption has been favored.

——The "old for new" policy has driven strong demand for home appliances and communication products and new energy vehicles. During the May Day holiday, driven by the continuous efforts of the "old-for-new" policy, consumption of home appliances and communication equipment products has been booming. Sales revenue of household appliances and audio-visual equipment increased by 167.5% year-on-year, of which the retail sales of daily household appliances such as refrigerators and washing machines increased by 169.8% year-on-year, and the retail sales of household audio-visual equipment such as TVs increased by 153.1% year-on-year. Consumer electronic products such as smartphones were included in the scope of new purchase subsidies, bringing real discounts to consumers, and the sales revenue of communication equipment increased by 118% year-on-year.

——The consumption of household goods and jewelry has increased well. During the May Day holiday, the consumption situation of household daily necessities was good, with sales revenue from furniture, sanitary ware, kitchen utensils and lamps increasing by 1.7 times, 68.7%, 30.1% and 15.7% year-on-year respectively. The concept of green and healthy living is more deeply rooted in people's hearts. The sales revenue of bicycles and other transportation equipment increased by 1.1 times year-on-year, and the sales revenue of nutrition and health products increased by 5.5% year-on-year. The rise in gold prices drove jewelry sales revenue to increase by 14.4% year-on-year.

——The popularity of online and offline consumption has increased simultaneously. During the May Day holiday, comprehensive retail sales revenue increased by 28.7% year-on-year, providing consumers with diversified consumption scenarios. Among them, the sales revenue of offline department store retail and supermarkets increased by 34.5% and 8.9% year-on-year respectively, and the sales revenue of online Internet retail industry increased by 34.7% year-on-year, reflecting that both offline and online consumption have good growth.

——Experiential tourism service consumption continues to be favored. During the May Day holiday, residents pay more attention to experience when traveling, and personalized tourism and cultural products and services are popular. The sales revenue of tourism and entertainment services increased by 6.1% year-on-year, among which the sales revenue of scenic spots, leisure and sightseeing services, and park and scenic spots increased by 42.7%, 65.6% and 11.1% year-on-year respectively; characteristic homestays and artistic performances were popular, and the sales revenue of homestay services, literary creation and performance services increased by 17.9% and 31.1% year-on-year respectively.
