According to the Ministry of Commerce’s business big data monitoring, the sales of key retail and catering companies nationwide increased by 6.3% year-on-year during the holidays.

Trade trade-in is very popular. From early 2025 to 0:00 on May 5, the number of applications for old-for-new subsidies for automobiles exceeded 3 million; consumers purchased 55.16 million units of 12 major home appliances and 41.67 million digital products such as mobile phones. Four days before the holiday, the number of applications for old-for-new subsidies exceeded 60,000, driving new car sales of 8.8 billion yuan; consumers purchased 3.56 million units of 12 major home appliances, driving sales of 11.9 billion yuan; and purchased 2.42 million digital products such as mobile phones, driving sales of 6.4 billion yuan.

During the holiday period, the Ministry of Commerce focused on monitoring retail enterprises' sales of home appliances, automobiles and communication equipment increased by 15.5%, 13.7% and 10.5% year-on-year respectively.
