On May 1st, the first day of the May Day holiday, Hengqin Port ushered in the grand "two peaks for people and vehicles". According to statistics from the Hengqin Border Inspection Station of Zhuhai Border Inspection Station, more than 104,000 inbound and outbound passengers were released by the Hengqin Border Inspection Station on that day, and more than 9,100 vehicles were shipped, an increase of 64.9% and 57.9% year-on-year respectively. The single-day passenger flow set a new historical record, and the traffic flow continued to be on the high of "breaking 10,000" on April 30, and the popularity of "two-city life" in Qin and Australia continued to rise.
With the continuous expansion of the "individual tour" cities in Hong Kong and Macao, and the implementation of policies such as "Qin and Macao tourism groups", "one tour per week" and "one sign multiple tours" for tourism to Macao, cross-border travel routes built around the rich cultural and tourism resources of Qin and Macao have been popular. On the first day of the holiday, 60,000 mainland passengers traveling to Australia through Hengqin Port reached 60,000, an increase of 76.5% year-on-year, which is the main factor in the passenger flow breaking through the new high.
With the continuous opening of the "joint one-stop" passenger and freight vehicle inspection channel and the personnel inspection and delivery hall of Hengqin Port, the convenience of Macau residents driving between Qin and Macau has been greatly improved, further promoting the customs clearance needs of Macau residents. According to statistics from the Hengqin Border Inspection Station, more than 25,400 Macau passengers passed through the Hengqin Port that day, an increase of 92.8% year-on-year. According to the relevant person in charge of Hengqin Border Inspection Station, in order to actively respond to the peak of passenger flow, Hengqin Border Inspection Station adopts the method of predicting and monitoring passenger flow on-site, adjusts the service plan and sends police force; closely communicates and cooperates with the joint inspection units of Qin and Macao, opens full inspection channels during peak hours to maintain the highest inspection and release efficiency; renovates the inspection area of the hall, and adds 7 temporary manual inspection channels for entry and exit, strengthens on-site guidance, provides assistance to passengers in need, and makes every effort to ensure the safe and efficient customs clearance of passengers.
