CCTV News: On May 1, the Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station Reservoir, the world's highest dam located in the Dadu River Basin in Sichuan Province, completed its first water storage, marking an important step towards the power station's commissioning and power generation.
Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station is located in the Dadu River Basin of Sichuan Province. It has a total installed capacity of 2 million kilowatts. It is a key project for energy development in the country in the "14th Five-Year Plan". The reservoir area water storage plan will be divided into three stages, and comprehensively monitor and evaluate the stability, seepage, etc. of the dam. In the first stage of water storage, the water level has been successfully raised to an altitude of 2344.3 meters and the water depth is over 90 meters.

According to reports, the Shuangjiangkou Hydropower Station has the largest hydropower tunnel excavated in the world, and the maximum discharge flow after commissioning reaches 4138 cubic meters per second. It also has the largest cyclone shaft in China, with a depth of 196 meters. The flood control system formed by these tunnels can withstand the once-in-a-century flood.
