Online travel platform data shows that during this year's May Day holiday, long-term and in-depth tours have become new engines of the tourism market. The number of domestic long-distance travelers booked 46%, with air tickets, car rentals, hotels, train tickets, and homestays all showing double-digit growth. Beijing, Shanghai, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Jiangsu and other places have become popular tourist destinations.
Data shows that on the first day of the May Day holiday, 644 A-level tourist attractions, 195 provincial-level and above rural tourism key villages and 84 museums included in the monitoring in Jiangsu Province received a total of 5.6574 million tourists, with a total tourist consumption of 2.095 billion yuan, an increase of 17.8% and 17.2% respectively compared with 2024. Anhui Province's 5A-level tourist attractions received a total of 363,000 tourists and ticket revenue was 19.219 million yuan, an increase of 18.5% and 15.2% respectively compared with 2024. Hunan Province had 9.9624 million passenger flow on the same day, an increase of 31.40% year-on-year.
