On May 1, a reporter from the China Foreign Trade Center learned from the China Foreign Trade Center that in order to implement the State Council’s deployment to stabilize foreign trade, help foreign trade enterprises actively respond to external risks and challenges, and better serve foreign trade in stable quantity and quality improvement, based on the booth fee standards announced on February 6, 2025, except for the exhibition areas (special areas) such as rural revitalization, the 137th Canton Fair will reduce and exempt booth fees for export exhibition companies at 50%. Enterprises that have enjoyed booth fee discounts at that time will remain unchanged. After the adjustment, the booth fee standards for each exhibition area will be announced on the official website of the Canton Fair. The fees collected will be returned through the original route of each trading group (branch group), ensuring that this measure to help enterprises and alleviate difficulties will be implemented to each participating company.

After years of development, the Canton Fair has formed an exhibition standard system with 19 indicators in seven aspects, including import and export conditions, brand cultivation, standard construction, R&D and innovation. According to statistics, the number of exhibitors participating in the Canton Fair accounts for about 5% of the country's import and export performance entities, and the general trade export volume accounts for about 15% of the country. This year's Canton Fair further increased its efforts to attract national-level high-tech, specialized and new "little giants", manufacturing single champions and other enterprises, and canceled the export value requirements for start-up and high-quality enterprises to participate in the exhibition, and the number of high-quality enterprises to participate in the exhibition has been greatly increased. According to statistics, the number of the above-mentioned high-quality enterprises participating in this Canton Fair exceeded 9,700, an increase of 20% over the previous session.

By introducing 10 measures to improve the quality of participating companies in the Canton Fair, this year's Canton Fair guided 49 local trading groups to establish a local high-quality enterprise database, optimize the selection mechanism for participating companies, reasonably arrange the number of booths, and facilitate more companies in need to obtain booths. According to statistics, there are more than 30,000 exhibitors participating in this export exhibition for the first time, including more than 4,200 new enterprises.

As an important national trade promotion platform, the Canton Fair has always taken serving national strategies and promoting the development of foreign trade as its mission. Recently, the 137th Canton Fair has successfully held two sessions, attracting more than 220,000 overseas buyers from 219 countries and regions around the world to attend the conference, setting a historical record for the same period. Since the opening, thousands of merchants have gathered at the Canton Fair, and the supply and procurement parties have been enthusiastic, and the atmosphere of trade negotiations has been active, fully demonstrating the resilience and vitality of China's foreign trade and further boosting the confidence of enterprises to explore diversified markets and overcome current challenges.
