CCTV News: There is another special thing about the return of the Shenzhou spacecraft. Due to the change in the return time, the landing area returned this time was selected in the East District of Dongfeng Landing Field.
Mao Yongjun, a Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, introduced that the spacecraft is divided into the east and west areas in the landing ground. The west area is selected for the return missions from Shen Twelve to Shen Twelve. The west area is a hard Gobi terrain, which is relatively friendly to aircraft landing and ground vehicle driving. Because the East District is larger than the West District, the probability of falling in the East District is higher. If it is delayed, it is highly likely that you can choose to fall in the East District.
Compared with the West District, the terrain conditions in the East District are relatively complex, consisting of Gobi, rivers, saxhorse, wetlands and saline-alkali land.
Mao Yongjun introduced that the terrain in the east area is a little more complicated, but they conducted a one-month comprehensive drill in the early stage. Whether the spacecraft landed in the east or west area, they had the confidence and ability to complete this data recovery mission.
