Based on the actual needs of network protection for minors and responding to the expectations and concerns of all sectors of society, the Cyberspace Administration of China continues to guide domestic software and hardware companies to jointly promote the construction of the mobile Internet minor model (hereinafter referred to as the "minor model"). In April this year, the minor model broke through a series of technical bottlenecks and achieved all-round optimization and systematic upgrades.

The release ceremony fully demonstrated the special highlights and main functions of the minor model. From the perspective of operation mode, mobile smart terminals, applications, and application distribution platforms realize three-party linkage, greatly reducing the threshold for using the model. Parents can click on the icon in a prominent position on the mobile phone, "One-click to start" the minor mode, and all applications switch simultaneously to form a relatively independent, safe and controllable Internet access environment. From the perspective of content ecology, high-quality content suitable for minors has been greatly expanded. Key platforms rely on children's content creators, copyright resources, authoritative institutions, etc. to screen massive content into the minor model, and establish a gradient content system of age stratification, content classification, and recommendation points-based content to better meet the spiritual and cultural needs of minors. From the perspective of functional services, the minor mode can provide functions such as control of the total daily Internet access time, setting of usage periods, rest reminders, application management, usage statistics, etc. Parents can adjust various settings according to actual conditions to achieve reasonable guidance on minors' Internet access behavior. From the perspective of coverage, Huawei, OPPO and ZTE provide minors mode after the mobile phone system is updated. Xiaomi, Honor and vivo are equipped with minors mode on the released new phones. App stores have established minors zones. Key applications in the fields of short video, social, e-commerce, education, tools, etc. have comprehensively upgraded the minors mode. The coverage of subsequent models will continue to expand to meet the daily use needs of minors and provide rich and diverse services.
