Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: Accelerate the development of mandatory national standards for safety requirements for autonomous driving systems

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, April 29 (Reporters Zhou Yuan and Zhang Xinxin) The reporter learned from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology on the 29th that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology recently released the key points of automobile standardization work in 2025, with a total of 23 contents in five aspects. This includes promoting the approval and release of standards such as automatic driving design and operating conditions, automatic parking, and autonomous driving simulation testing, accelerating the development of mandatory national standards for safety requirements of autonomous driving systems, and building a safety baseline for autonomous driving systems.

The key points of the work are clear, and the release of standards such as remote service and management of electric vehicles and the implementation of power battery safety requirements and standards, the review and approval of standards such as electric vehicle safety requirements, and the pre-research on mandatory national standards for recycling and utilization of fuel cell electric vehicles and power batteries should be carried out to continuously improve the safety level of electric vehicles. Accelerate the formulation and revision of mandatory national standards such as combined driving assistance systems and automatic emergency braking systems, revise lane maintenance assistance systems standards, promote the development of standards such as reversing assistance, and improve the safety level of driving assistance products.

The key points of the work also propose to promote the release and implementation of mandatory national standards such as side collision and rear collision; carry out research on the formulation and revision of test methods, reliability, NVH (noise, vibration and sound and vibration roughness), ergonomic engineering and other standards to continuously promote the improvement of automobile quality; carry out in-depth research on user experience standardization, and carry out research on new product technologies and standards such as hidden door handles, active pretension seat belts, large-angle seats, and in-car prompt sounds.

In addition, the key points of the work include building a standard system, expanding international standards cooperation, and improving automotive standards governance.
