The reporter learned from the Ministry of Water Resources that the first major water conservancy project in 2025, the modern irrigation zone of Guangxi Zuojiang Drought Control Heishui River, was started on January 3. The project is one of the landmark major water conservancy projects of the "two-level" construction. The estimated total investment is 7.697 billion yuan, the construction period is 44 months, the water supply scope involves 8 townships, covering 266,900 urban and rural water supply population.
The project takes Na'an Reservoir as the main water source. Through the reconstruction and expansion of Na'an Reservoir, the construction and continuous construction of supporting water transfer and distribution projects, the Na'an Reservoir and the six existing reservoirs form a "long vine and melon" irrigation system.
The project is located in the Zuojiang drought area, one of the three major drought areas in Guangxi. The irrigation area covers 13 townships in four counties (districts) of Fusui County, Daxin County, Longzhou County and Jiangzhou District, Chongzuo City, with a designed irrigation area of 922,100 mu. After the project is completed, the water resources in the upper reaches of the Yujiang River can be further optimized and allocated, which will effectively improve the agricultural irrigation and village water supply conditions in Chongzuo City, Guangxi, and help develop rural characteristic industries.
