The National Health Commission held a press conference today to introduce the seasonal solar terms and health. Children experience fever symptoms, and some may even experience fever convulsions. Wang Quan, chief physician of Beijing Children's Hospital, introduced that fever convulsions are a common comorbidity of fever in children. They are more common in children aged 6 months to 5 years old, and often occur within the first 24 hours of a child's fever.

When the onset of the disease, the body temperature often exceeds 38.5℃. When a child has a fever convulsion attack, the child often shows that his eyes are rolling up, his limbs are stiff or twitching, his lips are cyanotic, his teeth are tightly closed, and he does not respond when calling. The duration of fever convulsions in children is short and often stops after 3 to 5 minutes.
If a child has a fever convulsion, parents should pay attention to keeping their children in a safe and flat place.
When convulsions occur, parents should pay attention to a few things:
First, do not stuff anything into the child's mouth, including spoons, chopsticks, adult's fingers, etc.;
Second, do not feed antipyretics, do not feed anything including water, medicine, etc.;
Third, do not try to bind the child's limbs to avoid damage.
Parents can go to the doctor after their child's convulsions have stopped. If the child has had a convulsion in the past, or the convulsion has not stopped for more than 5 minutes, it is recommended to seek medical treatment. After the convulsion attack stops, the child can take antipyretic drugs according to the child's age and weight according to the usage in the instructions.
