CCTV News (News Network): Starting from June 1, my country will enter the flood season, and the southern region will enter the main flood season. The reporter learned from the Ministry of Water Resources that due to the high bottom water in rivers, lakes and reservoirs in areas with heavy rainfall in the early stage, risks such as flash floods, geological disasters, and small and medium-sized river floods have further increased. It is expected that in June, precipitation in northern Northeast China, eastern Jiangnan, South China, southeastern Southwest and other places will be 10 to 20% above normal; precipitation in southern North China, northern and central northwest, Huanghuai, and most of Jianghuai will be 100 to 20% below normal; precipitation in other areas will be close to normal. Floods above the warning level may occur in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, the Dongting Lake and Poyang Lake water systems, major rivers such as Xijiang, Beijiang, Dongjiang, Hanjiang, Taihu Lake, Zhejiang Qiantang River and Fujian Minjiang River in the Pearl River Basin.

Facing the severe situation of frequent extreme flood and drought disasters, the water conservancy department will strengthen forecasting, early warning, rehearsal, and plan measures, and accurately dispatch the river basin flood control engineering system to ensure that water conservancy projects can survive floods safely.
