CCTV News: On March 24, the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development released the second batch of typical urban renewal cases, guiding local governments to promote government guidance, market operation, public participation, and sustainable urban renewal models based on the implementation of more than 60,000 renewal projects last year.
The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development stated that this year, it will work hard to promote urban physical examinations and urban renewal in an integrated manner, continue to carry out urban physical examinations in 297 prefecture-level and above cities across the country, support county-level cities with conditions to carry out urban physical examinations, and guide local governments to scientifically formulate special plans for urban renewal based on the results of urban physical examinations.
Zhang Yan, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development: Prepare the "15th Five-Year Plan" urban renewal special plan, issue a guide to the preparation of urban renewal plans, improve the urban design management system, and work with relevant departments to accelerate the improvement of financial, fiscal, taxation, land and other support policies.
This year, urban renewal will focus on three types of transformation projects. Among people's livelihood projects, old urban communities built before 2000 will be included in the renovation scope; development projects will focus on renewing and renovating a number of old industrial areas and old blocks, and protecting and repairing a number of historical and cultural blocks; this year, more than 150,000 underground pipelines will be built and renovated, 1,000 key drainage and flood prevention projects will be completed, and urban lifeline safety projects will be promoted.
